Located in South Point, Ohio with an additional location serving students in Akron, Ohio, we are a commuter college with affordable housing within minutes of our campus. For those with busy schedules or looking to learn in a non-traditional format, we offer distance education courses.
The mission of the TSBC is to “Train Faithful Servants for Tomorrow - Today”, by offering a biblically oriented program that provides for a thorough knowledge of the Bible and for the ability to use effectively the Word of God in Christian living and Christian service.
Curriculum of Tri-State Bible College is designed to promote a biblical worldview and to help students become theologically skillful. Prominent in the curriculum is six semesters of theology, five semesters to survey the New Testament, and both Greek and Hebrew language studies. We offer several minors including Christian Education, Counseling, General Studies, Ministry, and Missions.
A comprehensive history of TSBC's first 45 years is now available. The hardcover book, written by Norma Jean Staten with Bob Withers, includes over 100 full color photos. It makes a great gift for an alumnus, past or current faculty member, BOD member, or current student -- anyone with ties to TSBC. Please consider purchasing a copy for yourself and perhaps a few more to use as gifts.
We have received incredible feedback on both the photos and text in the book. If you cannot travel to campus, we will mail a copy to your residence.
Dr. Clifford L. Marquardt went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, 12/21/2016. He was truly loved and respected by all who knew him. Although he will be missed by each and every member of the Tri-State Bible College community, his legacy is forever present in the depth and breadth of all that is TSBC.
Arrangements are being made by Hall’s Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio, are scheduled for Tuesday, December 27, 2016, and include a noon viewing and 2:00 pm funeral at Hall’s, followed by interment at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
A few years ago, Dr. Marquardt was asked to write a short biographical statement for a TSBC publication. He wrote the following: “Clifford Marquardt was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, in November 1937. He was raised on a dairy farm and attended a one-room rural school. He graduated from Wausau High in 1956 and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from September 1956 to September 1960. He attended DeVry Technical Institute, the University of Wisconsin, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moody Bible Institute, a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, a Master of Science in Library Science from Clarion University, and a Doctor of Ministry from Luther Rice Seminary. Dr. Marquardt was an instructor at Tri-State Bible College from 1973 to 1985. He then served with Jewish Mission Boards over a period of six years. He became President of Tri-State Bible College in 1995 and served in that role through 2009, when he became Chancellor at TSBC, a role he fulfilled until his passing. TSBC obtained initial accreditation and reaffirmation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education under Dr. Marquardt’s leadership. He and his wife Paula have been married since 1964; they have two children and four grandchildren.”
